“I remember just over a year ago when I recruited five Belgian Call of Duty players as the first team to play for Mercury. They’ve had their fair share of ups and downs but their resolve never weakened. That team was a bliss to coach and manage and I was very disappointed when they eventually decided to call it quits.
After that team I made a little comeback with a Counterstrike: Source team. The atmosphere in that team was awesome. Unfortunately the time needed to dedicate ourselves to become more than ‘just a good team’ wasn’t there so after a month or two we all decided it was better to stop playing as a team. I still think of those days.
After those two teams it was clear to me what Mercury eSports stood for.
Mercury was more than a team, it was something special, it felt like home. Whilst in Mercury, every one gave it 110%, all day any day. Mercury was giving that little extra, going that extra mile and always be on top of your game. Acting professional is hard when you’re clearly not but we somehow managed. Professional is more than playing important games and earning money doing it, it is also something else, something I valor even more than the status of ‘professional’. It’s giving respect to your adversaries.
I was convinced I could not find a team that could be that little different from all the other teams out there so I decided I’d lay Mercury to rest, until the proper players were found.
I am very pleased to announce to you all today I found that team. Hendrik, Jurgen, Niels, Dieter, Jens and Nigel, who recently played under the name of Three Dimensional Style are joining Mercury eSports as the Counterstrike team.
They made me realize there are still teams out there who are willing to go that extra mile and take the beatings they will encounter on the road. They convinced me they’re an excellent choice for Mercury eSports and I’m proud to call them so.
I will not end my statement with the usual summation of upcoming LAN events because frankly, we do not plan too far ahead into the future. When we’ll play at an offline event, we promise you, you’ll be the first to hear it. Until then we will focus on getting our game to the maximum of our potential.
Gentlemen, Mercury eSports is back and we will surely make the best of this voyage!”

“After being inactive for over a year in Counter-Strike, the time was right to prepare myself for one last journey. Forming a team in 3DS was just the beginning. I found myself playing with old friends I used to play with like xline, druxz, boRooo and new talents like PdD and dtr.
It felt good from the start, the climate was good and the mix of personalities was right. For some of us this might be the last time to give it our best before we hang our mice on the hook. But without any decent support there is no way we would have ever achieved something.
You always need someone watching over, who actually cares for the team by heart. Joining Mercury gives us this person, as Nivekii has proven himself to be a worthy, a caring manager . A lot of interesting things came up, but I guess receiving Nivekii’s full attention made the difference and is the reason why we chose Mercury. To all the people who believed in us and wanted to make that journey with us, I say thank you.
Joining Mercury seemed our best option and I’m sorry if we disappointed you in doing so.
We realize our path to redemption is long, a lot of us don’t even have the experience yet to compete on the highest level. Our goals are simple, to climb as far as the mountain takes us. Securing our position as a Top Benelux CS team will be the first step.
This has proven to be a difficult task due to the stability of Belgian and Dutch CS team, but once we’ve been able to do this the sky is the limit.
At this time I can say it feels right. I guess it always feels right at the start, optimistic promises are made every time a new team arises and are shattered once the team falls apart: the usual CS story. This time, it feels different. I truly believe we have 6 guys who want to make that long run together. Only time will tell if I was right. To end, I would like to thank Nivekii one last time for this chance and can only hope we will not let him down and earn the support he will certainly give us.”
See you on the other side!
